***Due to the small size of my dye-lots (usually 20 skeins, sometimes less) I often do not have sweater main color amounts in stock. Feel free to email me (uptonyarns@gmail.com) to discuss sweater sized dye lots if the stock is low for your favorite color**

This 3 ply worsted spun DK weight yarn was created from the flock of Two Sisters Farm in Waldoboro, Maine.  Bluefaced Leicester produce a vibrant, medium staple length fleece, with good crimp.  Soft but still hard wearing, it is the perfect yarn for sweaters, hats, and mittens.

Like all my dyed yarn, I used only plant and insect based dyes, and a few assists to achieve bright, light fast colors. Many of my colors include natural indigo.  If you are not familiar with the vagaries of working with natural indigo dyed yarn, please read "A Note About Indigo".

Bluefaced Leicester DK weight - Coe's Naptime
$16.00

A range of purples, from mauve to plum.  I was aiming for a color named "Fern's Watch" in honor of a friend's very good and very much missed dog who was fond of the sunsets over Katahdin, but there was a bit more indigo in the vat than I hoped and the yarn went slightly more purple.  The friend in question (Sarah, of FiberTrek podcast fame) has very kindly suggested that it be called Coe's Naptime, in honor of Fern's pack-mate, Coe who is very fond of naps.

I just dyed up a new batch.  There is enough yardage in this colorway to knit a full sweater.
