I source the fleece for my yards directly from small farms (all from Maine currently) have them spun into yarn at a small mill, and then dye them with natural dyes here in my dye studio.
I have managed to do a little dyeing in my new (still very much unpacked) space. There are now two new shades of blue in my Straw's Farm fingering weight line-up in addition to new dyelots of a few friends, and collections of fingering weight mini-skeins.
And the DK weight Gotland is finally back from the mill!!! I love the color of this yarn too much to over-dye it.
I am wicked honored that Jenn Steingass has used Upton Yarns Bluefaced Leicester DK weight in her latest design. Please see my Arboreal page to see about ordering yarn for your own!
I fell in love with Gundrun Johnston's Bousta Beanie Pattern (designed for the 2017 Shetland Wool Week) so with a bit of friendly prodding from Sarah Hunt of FiberTrekTV I put together a kit!
